Rachel's Pilates journey began in 2018, and she immediately fell in love with the pace, the burn, and the sheer fun of it all. After 17 years in Australia, she returned to New Zealand to pursue her passion for Pilates and a healthy lifestyle. In Rachel's classes, expect a fusion of strength, flexibility, and alignment.
Meet Grace:
Grace is our newest addition to the STUDIO.two Pilates team. Grace is Reformer Pilates qualified with Barre Body Australia Reformer Pilates, has recently attended training with Hi Yoga and completed the REPS Registered Hot HIIT Mat Pilates certification and holds a Pilates Diploma from Centre of Excellence.
Before Grace came to love all things Pilates, she had been training locally in dance for over 15 years in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary. She is excited to integrate these skills into her Pilates practice and bring to you a positive mind to body relationship through exercise.
We are excited to watch her grow in this space.
Meet Michelle:
My name is Michelle. Born and bred in Taupō, I am currently a teacher at Waipahīhī Primary School where I teach years 5/6. My own children are grown adults now so I am free to further explore my passion for yoga. I have been a Yogi ever since my son was born, almost 24 years ago, and completed my teacher training early in 2023.
I have taught at a few retreats and taken several Breath Workshops since then but this is my first official teaching role so I am very excited! Yoga to me is about connection to self. Like many people who teach yoga, I have my own style, which is a mixture of Hatha and Vinyasa. I like to move fluidly and connect to the breath. When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband, walking our dogs, trail riding and going on adventures in our caravan.
Meet Bex:
Bex is a certified Barre Instructor, Hot HIIT Mat Pilates Instructor, Reform Pilates Instructor, and also holds a Pilates Diploma from the Centre of Excellence. Her training started with Ariana Watene Pilates and Barre Instructor, followed by further training with Barre Body Australia, REPS registered Hot HIIT Pilates with Hi Yoga and then completing her Reformer training with REPS registered Reform Fitness NZ.
Instructing since 2017, she loves guiding her clients through resistance, getting their bodies moving, and making workouts fun. Bex's journey from ballet and jazz as a young girl to adult Ballet, Pilates, and Barre has been a lifelong love affair with movement and a healthy lifestyle.
Meet John:
Myofascial classes by John Lewis of Socially Fit.
You may have heard the term myofascial or fascia.. but maybe not, so what is it???
Well, we aren’t bones stacked on top of bones, and we aren’t muscle pulling everything together. What we are is connective tissue, connecting everything and pulling it apart!
Making space for our joints to move freely and in less pain. When we don’t train to open these lines of connective tissue, we get stuck, we shorten and we reduce movement while increasing pain.
So what are the classes like? Weird, wonderful and very different to anything else you’ll do!
Qualifications.... LOTS! See the Quals book in reception for extra info.
